Job Description

Are you a Mechanician who can conduct first line maintenance, repair industrial instrumentation, ensure maximum optimisation and minimum downtime of the production sections? If yes, this position is for you!

Role Responsibilities:

  • Trade Test Certificate in Instrumentation (NQF level 4).
  • 4 years post-trade experience as Instrument Mechanician.
  • Relevant experience in industrial instrumentation and process control systems.
  • Basic PLC programming, smart instrument configurations, maintenance of process control.
  • Ability to interpret and read Instrument diagrams, P&ID’s, and PFD’s.
  • Excellent fault-finding skills.
  • Medically fit for BMR.

Requirements:

  • To perform maintenance according to the weekly maintenance schedule.
  • To attend to daily instrumentation breakdowns.
  • Overhaul field instruments, i.e., valves, transmitters etc.
  • Replace and or install data cables, i.e., analogue, digital fibre, network etc.
  • Conduct ISO calibration according to work procedures to ensure that product is on specification.
  • To act responsible and take accountability for all work activities performed.
  • Perform standby duties as per the standby roster.

Required skills

Ability to interpret and read Instrument diagrams and PFD’s. Excellent fault-finding skills P&ID’s
