Job Description

The purpose of the position is to build strong, close and sincere relationships within our customer base,distributors, end users and offer sound sales & technical assistance. The position also purpose to seek, cold call and find new business opportunities and to ensure proper stock management support to customers and distributors.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Carries out sales and site visits to customers in accordance with the sales plan,and provides advice/support to customers on a range of Xylem products, attempting to match customer needs with engineered solutions.
Applies an aggressive sales plan, formulated in conjunction with the Sales Manager, to achieve sales, profits and growth budgets.
Analyses sources of tender information and future projects and follows up on leads. Ensures all pricing policies are followed, and ensures compliance with Xylem’s Environmental
Health & Safety and Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
Application of his / her product knowledge on Xylem branded items in order to sell and incorporate these in complete systems or solutions.
To act as commissioning and site engineering representative for the business unit on plants

Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required
ï‚· National Diploma in Engineering.
 5 years’ experience in a technical sales environment.
ï‚· Experience in water metering technology and systems is a must.
ï‚· Experience in NRW reduction methods and systems would be an added advantage.

ï‚· Negotiate market segment and / or areas of new potential clients
ï‚· Provide sound technical advice/training and application support to customers and distributors.
ï‚· Assist Bid Manager and Internal Sales with the preparation of tender and other complex offers.
ï‚· Ensure quotations and / or offers get communicated efficiently to customers and distributors.
ï‚· Update and manage CRM software (Salesforce) and provide forecast.
ï‚· Manage and document his/her work processes and report on any non-conformances and were applicable provide countermeasures.
