Job Description

Are you an over achieving Consultant in the insurance sales sector? You might just be what we need! Our client, a Financial Service Provider seeks a New Business Consultant to increase sales of the range of products through building relationships and superior client service to individual and corporate clients.

Role Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Sourcing and securing new business opportunities with corporate, unions, churches, taxi associations, funeral parlours, burial societies and individual clients
  • Training and ongoing product support to funeral parlours
  • Review new business pipeline, follow-up and track by sourcing, issuing and converting of quotations
  • Building relationships with internal departments to ensure superior service is offered to clients
  • Ensuring that clear information is given to clients before, during and after a sales deal
  • Ensure that there are no unreasonable post–sales barriers faced by clients
  • Keeping up-to-date with competitor product and service offering and industry developments
  • Consistently striving to engage with clients in honest, committed, considerate and receptive manner to drive company values

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • RE5 qualifications (advantageous)
  • 60 FAIS Credits or alternatively full FAIS recognized relevant qualification (DOFA dependent).
  • Class of Business training in Category 1 life and friendly societies & Product Specific training in Category 1 life and friendly societies
  • Minimum 12 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per CPD cycle
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle or means of transport
  • Sound knowledge of long term insurance or employee benefits products & underwriting processes
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the insurance industry preferable in the group funeral or group risk market
  • Experience in establishing contacts and relationships with decision makers within funeral group business
  • 5+ years of experience in selling of short-term and long-term insurance products
  • Experience in coaching and developing staff
