Job Description

Processing of assigned projects relating to services, operations, and engineering divisions, from Manufacturing up to final commissioning. Provide technical guidance on component installation, commissioning, and in-situ reconditioning/repairs. Site testing, site assessment, condition monitoring & root cause analysis of customer based equipment. Responsibility for implementation of services related processes and procedures and participate in service improvement projects.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  1. Attend all meetings related to job requirements.
  2. Undertake responsibility for Field Service Engineering, processing, and supporting activities in line with good engineering practices and applicable standards.
  3. Compile engineering investigations for all field service activities, arranging specialist support assistance and supporting team members when required.
  4. Advise and assist on testing, installation, commissioning, and condition monitoring.
  5. Prepare and issue, according to established or agreed procedures, schedules, and specifications, of calculations, drawings, requisitions, and piece lists to satisfy design, manufacture, and customer requirements.
  6. Control all drawings and technical data issued to the customer.
  7. Participate in design reviews and maintain records as appropriate to job requirement.
  8. Give support to other departments on job related engineering problems.
  9. Ensure that product development ideas are passed to the appropriate channels.
  10. Ensure your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
  11. Co-operate with the requirements of the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Energy management systems and directives.
  12. Co-operate with the company to enable it to discharge its own responsibilities effectively.
  13. Liaise with Customer and Sub-suppliers as necessary within the set processes and procedures.
  14. Observe the need to apply cost effective solutions and participate in ensuring costs are controlled within budget.
  15. Proactively engage and support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection, and continual improvement.
  16. All other duties as relevant to the post.

Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required

  • Higher National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Relevant experience within related industry including knowledge of industry practices & standards.
  • Basic design and draughting skills.
  • CAD and general computer skills.
  • Root cause analysis & Mitigation implementation.
  • Mechanical system analysis.
