Our organisation is currently looking for a data specialist. This position will involve the successful candidate working in a small team and working closely with the Manager responsible for new products and the Head of Actuarial Development, being responsible for items such as:

• Working closely with data linked to new products/funeral schemes that are taken onboard to ensure accurate pricing and reporting can be conducted.
• Working with the IT department to develop system generated data extracts.
• Working with business divisions to ensure clean data is provided to enable pricing and reporting to be conducted.
• Ad-hoc pricing / actuarial input
• Other ad-hoc projects.

In addition to the above data work, the successful candidate will also be involved with expanding our newly established Funeral Parlour and Affinity division, as well as other new initiatives currently being planned. This position would be ideal for a candidate with the following:

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with data,
• Ideally someone with an Actuarial background,
• Experience in the Life Industry is beneficial,
• Experience with using actuarial modelling software such as Prophet, Basys or Moses or experience with Qlikview, SQL or other data manipulation/ management software,
• Strong attention to detail,
• Good problem solving and analytical skills,
• Excellent communication and Excel skills,
• Motivated and a team player.
